ENID, OK – A random walk on a trail in June of 2015 has turned into seven years of taking morning sunrise photos in my hometown of Enid, Oklahoma. I spend 90 minutes outdoors on daily morning walks. Most mornings I’m able to capture several great photos of each beautiful Oklahoma sunrise.
The seven or so years since I started my outdoor treks are equal to 2,648 days. I figure I’ve been out on the trail and witnessed around 2,500 sunrises. Out of those sunrises I figure I’ve photographed 2,000 of them.
Each sunrise comes in several phases so I take a minimum of five photos for each sunrise. By September of 2022 I believe I have around 10,000 great Enid sunrise pics.
I’ve collected so many great sunrise photos that I now post one every morning on my active Facebook page for Enid Buzz. The photos have become very popular and I get positive comments daily and have requests to use the photos.
My sunrise photo album has enough pics that I have decided to put together a coffee table book. The photograph on this page is one of my favorites. I hope to fill the book with 365 Enid sunrise photos.
All photos have been taken with my iPhone. I believe I started out with an iPhone 6 and worked up to the iPhone 12. I do now edit many of the photos to help bring out what I feel are the true colors I see with my eyes.
Over the years I’ve become a much better photographer just due to taking these photos. I now understand composition, shadows, lighting and camera placement better. I’ve learned to get more creative as the years have passed and enjoy looking for new angles to use for taking the sunrise photos.
The two photos on this page show an example of what the actual scene looks like that I am photographing. In the daylight the photo is pretty boring without much beauty. The second photo shows the sunrise colors and the reflection of light off of the water. This one was almost a once in a lifetime shot!

This is an average everyday photo of Crosslin during the day without much thought.
This is Crosslin at sunrise with a perfect mix of clouds and colors. I have yet to see this view and these colors again.
