Happy New Year BuzzHeads! As much as I love the number 20 and the numbers 2020, I’m not sure it was that great of a year. I look forward to 2021 and the new adventures that await.
I was reflecting on the ups and downs of last year and thought about what 20 lessons that I learned throughout the year. Here is a look at some of the things I learned, a few things I realized and a few eye openers.
20 Things I Learned In 2020
1. No matter who you are or what you do there will be somebody that doesn’t like you, no matter what.
2. Many people value freedom over health, others prefer restriction over risk.
3. People are gullible and will believe almost anything, without much evidence.
4. If you don’t stay active when you’re young, you’ll regret it when you’re old.
5. Jeeps are fun to drive.
6. Having a kid move away from home leaves a weird hole in your heart.
7. You can never get enough sunshine, ever.
8. “Adventure” is my trigger word.
9. I missed corduroy and terry cloth.
10. Job security is a myth.
11. Always have something to look forward to, always.
12. Everything can change in an instant, and I mean everything.
13. Working from home was cool before the pandemic.
14. If you can’t pivot you won’t survive.
15. People can be so committed to one ideology they lose sight of common sense.
16. If your parents live long enough, you need to be prepared to take care of them.
17. The people in charge aren’t always the smartest people in the room.
18. You can never have enough toilet paper.
19. Never lose contact with your 12 and 13-year-old best friends.
20. Some squirrels are smarter than others.
