Ways to better remember and embrace special moments:

1. If you need to take a photo or video, do it quickly and then put your camera away and be in the moment.
2. Be attentive and listen more than you speak. Soak up the story.
3. Actually attend events rather than watching them on TV or the Internet.
4. Pay attention to small details like colors, smells and sounds.
5. Slow down and enjoy the moment.

I’m really wanting to get some big projects underway this year and also complete as many as possible. I will turn 60 years old on December 20, 2022 so it’s time to get busy. Follow along on the CurtisTucker.com blog and A Shaggy Duck Life podcast to see what I can get accomplished.

Are all of these goals doable? Of course! Will I get every goal completed? Who knows? Without a few goals what do we have to strive towards? Putting these goals out on the old Interwebs will keep me motivated and will also be a visual reminder of my plan for the year.

Here is my list of 22 goals for me personally, Shaggy Duck Studio and BuzzHead Media (to be completed by Dec. 31, 2022):

1. Record at least 50 new episodes of A Shaggy Duck Life podcast.

2. Upload at least 50 new blog posts on CurtisTucker.com.

3. Complete at least 50% of the book “Banana Seat Squad”.

4. Maintain my workout schedule of 90 minutes of waking/running/cycling each morning.

5. Record 52 new episodes of the 70’s Buzz Podcast with at least 12 interesting guest interviews.

6. Create at least 10 Shaggy Duck Brand t-shirt designs being sold online.

7. Record at least 50 episodes of the BuzzHead Radio podcast.

8. Start a series of large canvas paintings under the artist name Shaggs.

9. Go on at least one big Jeep adventure.

10. Put together a coffee table book of 365 of my sunrise photographs.

11. Increase the popularity and readership of Enid Buzz, double the revenue.

12. Meet my two half sisters in person for the first time.

13. Meet my surfing first cousin in person for the first time.

14. Take a long family vacation to Granbury, TX.

15. Rebuild my vinyl album collection to it’s 70s level.

16. Travel to every Sooner/Razorback football game that we can.

17. Attend at least one concert.

18. Take 365 photographs of the day for 2022.

19. Upload something to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter every day.

20. Upload something for Enid Buzz on Instagram and Twitter every day.

21. Double my savings account.

22. (TBA – in case I forgot one while writing this post)

That’s all folks! This is going to be one groovy year!

I was reflecting on the ups and downs of last year and thought about what 20 lessons that I learned throughout the year. Here is a look at some of the things I learned, a few things I realized and a few eye openers.

20 Things I Learned In 2020

1. No matter who you are or what you do there will be somebody that doesn’t like you, no matter what.

2. Many people value freedom over health, others prefer restriction over risk.

3. People are gullible and will believe almost anything, without much evidence.

4. If you don’t stay active when you’re young, you’ll regret it when you’re old.

5. Jeeps are fun to drive.

6. Having a kid move away from home leaves a weird hole in your heart.

7. You can never get enough sunshine, ever.

8. “Adventure” is my trigger word.

9. I missed corduroy and terry cloth.

10. Job security is a myth.

11. Always have something to look forward to, always.

12. Everything can change in an instant, and I mean everything.

13. Working from home was cool before the pandemic.

14. If you can’t pivot you won’t survive.

15. People can be so committed to one ideology they lose sight of common sense.

16. If your parents live long enough, you need to be prepared to take care of them.

17. The people in charge aren’t always the smartest people in the room.

18. You can never have enough toilet paper.

19. Never lose contact with your 12 and 13-year-old best friends.

20. Some squirrels are smarter than others.
