Hey Guys! I keep running across old autographs and memorabilia I’ve collected over the years. I figured I had better make a list so when I’m gone one day everyone will know what not to throw in the trash.
I’ll slowly add to this list as I remember and find things so keep checking back. Let me know what cool things you’ve collected over the years.
1. The first item on the list is my signed wine bottle from legendary OU football coach Barry Switzer. The bottle came from my long time friend Jason Gilbow, who is one of the gang of five from W. Broadway back in the 70s. His father and Barry were roommates in college at Arkansas. Jason grew up with Barry as a part of the family and spends lots of time with the Switzers. He told Barry one day that it was 60th birthday and asked if he would sign one of his personal bottles as a gift. Barry signed it to Shaggy Duck and Jason gave it to me as a gift.
It’s a Switzer Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon from 2012. I have not opened the bottle and most likely won’t unless there’s a special occasion for Barry.
2. The second item on the list is the strand of green shag carpet from the Jungle Room at Graceland. I actually have an entire blog post about it around here somewhere on the website so I won’t go into much detail here. The carpet strand and Graceland ticket are from my trip in July of 1996 on the way to the Atlanta Summer Olympics.
